Promotional Marketing
Participants create and submit a marketing portfolio and required elements that address the annual theme/problem. Semifinalists complete a layout and design assignment for evaluation.
Getting Started
In this step you will need to create a project folder and download the Project Resource Files:
- Open the folder called STEAM and Create a new folder inside of it called career-prep on your cloud storage (Onedrive)
- Right click the PROJECT RESOURCE FILES link and download the zip file > move it to your project folder > right click the ZIP file and extract the contents to your project folder.
- Open Microsoft Office and follow the video directions below to create your new files and save it to your project folder.

Project Plan
- Software: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Hardware: printer
- Materials: Card Stock, folder, manila envelope
- Project Guidelines:
- Promotional items must provide a blank
- Full Color printed documents on 8.5" x 11" card stock
- Clipart is allowed but no templates
- Portfolio items - business card, letterhead and envelope, postcard, small poster, pamphet/brochure
- Include the TSA school logo and the TSA logo
- Documentation/Portfolio Requirements MS Word:
- Title Page - event title, conerence city and state, and year
- Table of Contents
- Interpretation f the theme - one page
- Description of the items included including item type, screen shots and pictures of items produced, intended audience, intended purpose (4 page maximum).
- Hardware and software used - one page
- References - one page
- Student copyright checklist - one page
- Photo/film release forms of people in promo items
- Clipart documented.
